Still in development, EARTHscope has already proven a great success. Here are some features we're currently working on for versions 3.0 and beyond.

ES v3.0 and Beyond
Features currently in development for the next iterations of the EARTHscope include:

Partner Features

  • Ability to bundle Java applets within the ES framework
  • Automated content module upload engine: A simple interface so partners can easily can place content into ES's modular framework without any Flash expertise
Formats
  • GIS: Automated method for converting GIS file formats into Flash friendly file formats
  • Develop geo-referenced live (or near-live) updating capability
Scenarios
  • Integrate simple Flash-based scenario planning template
  • Integrate simple Flash or Java-based scenario modeling engine
Interface
  • Develop 4th window and/or adapt existing media window to be multi-functional
  • Develop synchronistic interactivity between multiple windows
  • Multiple language support
  • "My EARTHscope" -- ability to save and annotate a custom display of content
  • "Print this ES view" or export to printable PDF
  • Dynamically generated User Interface based on content

  • Updated interface for organizations with multiple volumes
  • Build in ES traffic counter for each library volume
